How WeVenture hires better talent faster
A Berlin advertising agency added 35% more applications, cut time-to-hire 30% and reduced cost-to-hire 20% — by pairing Join with Personio.
TL;DR
A Berlin advertising agency added 35% more applications, cut time-to-hire 30% and reduced cost-to-hire 20% — by pairing Join with Personio.
WeVenture is a Berlin advertising agency with offices in three locations and clients across Germany and France. Founded in 2015 with about 40 employees, the company runs Personio for HR operations — and needed a multiposting layer that complemented Personio rather than replacing it.
The Challenge
Three problems concentrated on the recruiting team:
- Personio is strong on the HR-data side but didn’t include robust multiposting. Every role meant posting manually to a curated list of agency-relevant boards.
- Candidate experience was variable. Without automated rejection messages, no-decision applicants frequently never heard back — quietly burning the agency’s brand among the talent pool it would need next year.
- Cost-per-hire was creeping. Premium-board spend was used as a default rather than targeted to the roles that actually warranted it.
The Solution
WeVenture added Join on top of Personio. Join handled the publish layer across LinkedIn, OMR Jobs and Berlin Startup Jobs — the three boards that matched the agency’s target candidate profile in marketing, growth and digital roles. Applications consolidated centrally regardless of channel. Automated rejection messages closed the loop with every applicant within the same window.
For priority roles, the team allocated about €500 a month in premium spend through Join — used selectively rather than by default.
The Results
- 35% more applications across the unified channel mix.
- 30% reduction in time-to-hire as the publish-to-review-to-decision cycle tightened.
- 20% reduction in cost-to-hire — premium spend down because the free-and-curated mix was producing.
The pattern WeVenture demonstrates well: enterprise HRIS (Personio) and modern multiposting (Join) aren’t competitors. They’re complementary layers in a stack that handles both the HR-data plumbing and the talent-attraction front end without forcing a single-vendor compromise.
