Multiposting
Also called: multi-posting, job distribution, cross-posting
For most SMBs, multiposting is the single feature that turns a hiring process from a manual chore into something that runs by itself for the first 48 hours.
Why multiposting exists
A single job posting needs to live in many places to reach candidates. In Europe, that’s some mix of Indeed, StepStone, LinkedIn, Xing, Glassdoor, France Travail, Infojobs, and a handful of niche boards depending on the role. Without multiposting, an SMB recruiter does the same paste-and-format dance ten times per role.
Multiposting is the tooling that publishes the same job to all the chosen destinations from one form. The applicant tracking system holds the canonical version of the job; each board displays it in its own layout; applications come back into the same inbox no matter which board the candidate used.
What “multiposting” actually includes
The label hides three different things:
- Free distribution. Boards that accept feed-style postings at no cost (Indeed organic, Glassdoor, Google for Jobs via structured data). Most ATSs do this by default.
- Paid placement. Boards that charge per-posting or per-click (StepStone, certain Indeed sponsored slots). The ATS handles the credit purchase and the placement.
- Niche reach. Industry-specific boards (T3N for tech, Stack Overflow Jobs, Welcome to the Jungle) where reach is small but quality is high.
A good multiposting feature lets you control each of these separately for each role.
What an SMB should look for
Three things matter:
- The set of boards. Indeed and LinkedIn cover most needs in EN. DACH needs Xing and StepStone. FR needs France Travail and HelloWork. ES needs Infojobs and Infoempleo. If the ATS doesn’t have those, it’s not built for Europe.
- Pricing model. Multiposting included in the plan is the cleanest. Pay-per-board or per-click models punish a steady hiring pace.
- Application back-flow. Applications must come back into the ATS, not into separate inboxes per board. Otherwise multiposting just multiplies the inbox problem.
What multiposting does not do
It does not replace sourcing. Posting widely brings in inbound applications; outbound sourcing (LinkedIn search, networks, referrals) still matters for hard-to-fill roles.
